Angel Beats!

Another friend-recommended manga.

I started to read it, because there was nothing else to read, and it turned out to be interesting.

When people die, but they die unsatisfied, they will go to a world where it will give them peace and pleasure. This world is a generic school, there most of the teachers and students are programmed with generic personalities to accompany the humans. A girl named Yuri believes that there is a "god" who is pulling the strings behind  this world, and she wants to meet and defeat him. She gathers a team of other dead humas to form a resistance group against this "god". The story is told from the perspective of a schoolboy by the name of Otonashi. Throughout the story, they are able to gather up many different comrades -- a time-traveller, an idiot, a gunmaker, a mage ("mage"), and many others.

For the most part, their enemy is the "tenshi". She is the student council president. The resistance club has named this girl "angel", and she possesses supernatural powers.

^that's the Angel for you

^the hand sonic, Angel's supernatural weapon.

Although i enjoy reading it, there are some things that bother me.

The tenshi protects the defenseless.

Yuri has used this fact to lure in the tenshi many times. Yuri renders herself defenseless while fighting others. Then the tenshi protects Yuri. However, Yuri is utterly determined to destroy the tenshi and use her to lure in "god".

Also, why does Otonashi keep following Yuri? This question has been bought up many times in the manga, but i feel that it was never really fully explained.

And...why doesn't Yuri just happily pass on? Why is she so determined to meet this "god"? This question might be answered in future chapters...but I'm not so sure.

Oresama Teacher

A manga about delinquents, highschool, and corruption.

A story that focuses on a girl ex-delinquent who was arrested. After she is released, she is put in a private school, and she wants to live a normal highschool life.

It is an interestin read, but it is bot those mabgas that you cannot put down. If anyone enjoys reading about tomboys, fighting, and highschoolife, i suggest you to try it. Personally, it was an interesting read at first, but the tension and the suspense wore off. However, i do suggest this for anyone who does not want manga to completely kill their time.

Durarara!

Yes, I have tried reading it before (and yes, I realize that it is more of an anime than a manga)

I read the first chapter, then I stopped. I don't really remember why.

Because I had some spare time, I decided to try to read it again.

And I realized exactly how different the world of Durarara is from the world we live in, and I realized exactly how twisted it is. That, however, is not the worst part -- the worst part is the realization that we might one day become that society.

A boy falls in love with a girl's head. He loves it so much that he will kill others in order to protect it.

His sister is in love with him. She is in love so much that she will do anythings in order to keep a good relationship.

A guy likes to watch others suffer. He will meet suicidal people, make them mad, and then kill them.

That is the basic gist of Durarara!...

It is rare for me to come upon a manga that deals so much about relationships between individuals at this level. The plot is also extremely complex, showing with depth the lives of every individual.

This is one of those mangas that cause you to stop and ponder.

Manga Talk 1

For a long time now, my manga friends have been telling me to read this -- Rurouni Kenshin. I have always been hesitant. The art wasn't my style, historical mangas were never a favourite of mine, and The overall idea of Rurouni Kenshin did not appeal to me. As time went on, more and more of my friends suggested that I should read it. I tried to read the first few pages, and the art bothered me... I will try to get into it...

I told my friends to read Noblesse, but they were hesitant also. We usually stuck with manga, and we did not venture into the realm of Naver webtoons and manhwa.

I suggest Noblesse to those who enjoy reading stories about scientific advances and the supernatural. Every page is coloured, and the art is really good. Although it might look like a vampire story, it is nothing like Vampire Knight.

Kuroko No Basuke

It's a new manga that I have just started to read -- and it is the first sports manga that I have read.

It's about a team of elite basketball players, and how they go to different highschools and compete against each other. The main story focuses on Kuroko, the "Phanthom 6th Player" on the team.

Usually, sports mangas don't interest me, because I am not into sports.

Some people introduced the anime to me, and I watched the first episode. Basketball was such a serious topic -- they talked about it as if it was a matter of life and death.

The art was good, and the logic was good, so I thought that I should try to read the manga.

My favourite character is Kuroko -- he lacks presence, and no one notices him. He has extreme passing skills.

If you have time, I suggest you to go to Youtube.com and search for his passes. You will be amazed.

And NO it is not yaoi.

I have tried many genres -- Shounen, Shoujo, Horror, Drama, Romance, Slice of Life, Fantasy, Supernatural, Sci-Fi...

For me, manga is a joy in life, just like how reading is a joy in another's life.

There is the manga that makes you cry, the manga that makes you laugh, and there's the manga that makes you think for hours on end.

I am KSL, and I wish to share with you my manga journey.
